I know I am probably re visiting old ground here but.

Does anyone have the info on how to hdloader working with crystal chip 2.

I have tried alsorts but am getting nowhere. According to a german board there is a version that will fit onto cc flash chip (just) but further infomation wasn't found on how, and how to do so.

I have tried running the loader from my usb pen, it fires up ok be no hard drive found. Now when I do fit the hardrive, formatted using winhiip_v1.7.6 the system just freezes on crystal chips splash screen. remove hard drive everything boots fine.

The install is fine, boots all the usual and have upgraded to the latest PATCHED versions of firmware and bm.

Any help would be greatly appreciated .

    Thanks,

The best way to make HDLoader working is from Memory Card. Then, as JNABK said, the hard drive needs to be compatible with the PS2.
And for the freeze, be sure that you didn't activate the automatic startup of the hard drive in BootManager. You don't need that to make HDLoader to work.
    PS 2 V5 PAL (SCPH 30004R) - HDD 80 GB - CC 1.0 - PowerBook G4 17" - FREE HDLOADER - SMS - ULE - SNES Station
BootManager Themes - Essential Pack - CC Wiki (en)

Thanks Yoc, looks like is was the hdd startup script causing the problem, am up and running now .

Thanks jnabk, I had checked compatibilty with the relevent site, only one person come back with incompatible 7 said it was good. O i and thanks for posting the MC patched version of the loader, works a treat.
