Apparently it has something to do with the TOC file. Ultimately if you try to record a disk like that on +R you'll get an error saying the destination disk does not have enough free space.

well that's interesting
What the hell are u talking about? No GTA game is 4.7GB+, or 4.38GB actually, since thats the real size of a DVD+/-R.
You can burn any GTA game to a DVD+R.
I burnt GTA:SA to a RiData 8X +R, and it works better than good and like an original on my V7 DMS4 Pro PS2, which has ToxicOS .41. I might not have Crystal, but u can burn any GTA game on a DVD+R, it's worked for me on a Lite-On burner in DVD Decrypter.
I have also burned many ps2 games on DVD+R and it fits fine (including GTA)

GTA Vice city
Hi guys. I just got the crystal chip 1.1 w/ hacked firmware and boot manager 1.8.
-backups play just fine not online.
But here's my concerns/questions
-sleep mode from boot manager doesn't work (is it supposed to?) But I am aware of the HSM
The whole reason I bought the crystal chip was to be able to bypass DNAS..but i havent' been able to at all really.
I have only been online with:
-dnas patched game
-original nba street 3
I have tried and failed going online and making copies with:
-nba street 3 (DNAS comes back with (-864) Authentication error ???
-nfl street 2 ("passes" DNAS but then immediately says I have a 'cheat device' installed and kicks out)
I am worried I have a problem with my install or software, any suggestions?
Im very new with this stuff ( been reading for 3 days, and getting my chip tomorrow :P)
But it seems to use the Crystal Chip's DNAS patcher, you need to run it in "Enhanced" mode in the Boot manager, have you been doing that?
Hi
Yeah I've been running the games in enhanced mode.
When its in enhanced mode it give me the 864 error
when its in minimal mode it gives -402 error.
I think if I dnas patch it myself it will work, but not with the crystal chip.
I didn't rip that game myself, maybe its one of those cracked games.
but nba street was a direct copy from a real dvd game.
I manually dnas patched the nba street and it works in minimal mode.
however, it doesn't work in enhanced mode, even when already dnas patched.
I haven't tried with the new firmware, but from what i understand, i shouldn't need it.
i think they got the DNAS patching working after a certain firmware version, no?
if your firmware is really old that could be the problem :/
