    Hello folkes
This is my first post on this forum. I need a little (read a lot ) help with a mod om my old version 3 PS2. I have a crystal 2.0 chip that I need to install in my machine. Does anyone have a kind of guide - pictures/manual/diagram on how to install the mod chip in my machine?
I couldn“t find anything with Google or on this site to my particular problem.
    Thanks
    Cheers Cardassio

Here are the installation diagrams: http://crystal-chips.com/main/content/view/27/42/
This is the one you need for your v3: http://www.crystal-chips.com/documen...11/cc11_v3.jpg

I hope you have the right equipment and some decent solder skills, the PS2 is really hard to mod. I wouldn't even think about soldering on mine, though your v3 should be a bit easier to solder than my v12. No offense, but even pro modders are messing things up sometimes.

    Hi Jones 23
Thanks for the quick reply. Yes I am a bit concerned about soldering this mod but I have some soldering skills, but will it be enough? . I will soon be finishing my datatechnician education (1 year left). Is it possible to get a picture of a v3 with the Crystal 2.0 installed? I couldn“t find any pictures.....
    Cheers

Look here for some beautiful install pics: http://www.norcalmods.com/gallery/
No pic of a v3 with CC, but the MI installation should be similar: http://www.norcalmods.com/gallery/di...?album=6&pos=4

The old ones are harder, especially with the "A,B,H,I,HA" points. Those points are about the same width as 30awg wire, so be very careful with those points as it's easy to bridge them and end up with a big solder glob covering 3 or 4 pins in no time.
