Hello everybody. Need some help here, please!!

I have installed on my V10 a crystal chip 2.0, flashed with firmware 1.8 and it works(it reads backups and original games) but after while, it just stops!
Cant read original nor bakcup games. If i try to put the chip in sleep mode(pressing 6 times reset) the console reads only original games.

Trying again to install the firmware(1.8) it just stuck and on the screen i read "Please wait...".

Trying the 2.0.6 hacked firmware it just dont start to upgrade the firmware.

Trying 3.4 hacked firmware, i have black screen.

Any idea how to fix that???

If you want to flash new firmware, the chip has to be in recovery mode.

press 3 times reset and put the FW-cd in you will see the normal Sony browser and the chip will boot the disc. In recovery mode u can only boot the FW-Disc

    thanks for the reply.

I have already tried to set the chip in recovery mode but it does not work, or maybe i'm not doing the right steps.
Note that the sleep mode works! I press 6 times reset and the ps2 read the original dvd games.
    Any idea?

@eve: Have you tried just upgrading the firmware using a usb device? That's how I do it. I find it faster and saves on needlessly wasting discs. You just have to extract the firmware from the *.bin/*.cue files and then copy the subfolder "FILES/BM" to your usb device. Then go into the firmware manager and upgrade it that way. Sorry for my lack of detail on instructions, but we can clarify if you're not sure how to do it yourself. The latest version of the hacked firmware is CC Software 34 modified v2 from Jones23, which is pretty much what I'm using now on my CC 2.0 Pro SLE. Only if I can't upgade via usb would I use a firmware disc.

    Hello ps2dragon.
I have tried to upgrade from the usb memory stick but have no success. I think it does not even read the usb device.
The usb device that i use is a kingston one. When use it on the computer it has a green led that blinks. When i put it on the ps2 it does not blink(i have tried both usb slot and same result).
Maybe there is a hardware problem?

i have also tried the 34 modified version v2 and i get black screen.

    Any idea?
    Thank you for the support.

    ps:my ps2 is a V10 and the chip is a CC 2.0 (Not a SLE!).

I feel that your problem maybe the way you are burning the FW or the type of media you are burning to. What type of blank media are you burning to ? Where are you downloading the FW from ?

Yea it could be a hardware problem, but also more likely it's because your USB device might not be compatible with the PS2 usb driver loaded. The usb stick should be formatted in Fat32 format for it to work. Do you have any other usb sticks to test?

Jones23 said the 34 modified v2 firmware should work with any CC version, but does have problems with v1.x chips. He also mentioned to try Firmware 29 hacked, which you can read about in this thread. So maybe try that firmware instead?

    i have formated as fat32.
Later i'll try another usb device, which is older than the kingston one.

i have tried both, but it does not work none of them.

With the 29 hacked version i can install only the BM on the ps2 MC, intead the update does not even start!

Trying 34modified_v2 i see black screen.

I'll try to reinstall the chip and if it does not work again i'l send it back to the vendor...
