Problem while installing applications... –
I have a problem installing any application since I updated to BM v2.0.6.
I tried to build a CD Image containing some applications. First I took a Mega Pack I found here at the forum, placed everything in the APPS folder and executed makeit.bat. With the image burned on a CD-R I'm able to install the BM2 and also the firmware update is no problem. But if I'm trying to install the apps from CD, the BM only lists the PS2 DVD Player after choosing CD/DVD?!
I thought it may be a problem with the CD, so I tried to install over the network. I connect the PS2 with the PC by choosing PCHost, but with the same result?!
I really don't have a clue what might be the problem... can anyone help?
Did you try putting the BM/APPS folder onto the root of a USB device?
I had the same problem you are having and this solved it for me.
Hmm, I only have a USB HDD... should this work? Didn't use the USB function yet...
USB HDD should work, I used a PSP and it worked flawlessly.
I organized a USB Stick and put the whole BM folder on it. Unfortunately it got always stuck in the Install Applications from screen... I only got "Please wait..." all the time.
So I formated my small 20 GB USB HDD and put also the whole BM folder on it. Now I got to select the USB HDD, but the applications list is just empty?!
Is there any other idea? Do I have to put the applications in other folders on the USB HDD or is it correct to take the whole BM folder?
Put the entire BM folder onto the root of the USB device.
Then insert the device into your PS2, then afterwards turn on your PS2.
I had to restart my PS2 for BM to recognize the device and show the contents of the BM folder.
Have you tried this?
Yes, I first added the USB Stick/HDD and turn the PS2 on. The Stick (128 MB) lets the BM hang up while trying to list the devices to install from... I only get "Please wait...". The HDD seems to get recognized, because I can choose USB HDD to install from... unfortunately the list of applications is empty?!
Hmmm... did you download the BM Megapack from the CCWiki and put the BM folder (in it's entirety) onto the root of your USB device?
Also be sure that you are using the latest hacked FW 29 and BM 2.0.6
I had this problem and it was due to me using outdated software.
The USB drive has to be formated in FAT or FAT32, but not all drives are compatible with the PS2 USB drivers.
For network installation: Did you start the PS2Client on your PC? It can't work without that.
Best read the tutorials on the CC Wiki, there's everything in detail and step by step.

In my case the BM 2.0.6 seems to be the problem...
I tried your Custom BM. It is v2.0.4 and I have no problem to install the applications from CD. I only have problems with HDLoader, but I think the ELF is just damaged (didn't patch right). I used HDL Tiny with my old BM... can I just write a APPINFO.PBT for the ELF to install it?
I formated the USB Stick and also the HDD with FAT32 and put the BM folder on them. The USB Stick seems to be incompatible, but the HDD is recognized. Although I didn't see any Apps in the list. I of course used the Wiki and read all tutorials, but none of the install methods worked.
Is there nothing known about bugs in BM 2.0.6 resulting in the described scenario? Can I use the FW29 (hacked) with the BM 2.0.4? Where do I get the original BM 2.0.4 (nothing against your Custom BM of course)?
