Problem Installing CC1.0
Problem Installing CC1.0 –
We just installed a Crystal Chip 1.0 in a SCPH-30001R and after some trouble with the soldering, thoroughly going over it several times, we finally got the system running again. Unfortunately, now it doesn't want to install the firmware.
From what I've read, it seems to be functioning basically as it should pre-firmware - it won't boot any official software, instead just kicking you back to the browser (it will boot audio CDs, though), and will go back to functioning like a normal PS2 after resetting six times. All the firmware discs we burn give us the "Please Insert" red screen - and yes, we do know how to burn properly around here - and the PS2 will read an audio cd burned on the same media.
Is there anything we're doing wrong? As I've said, we've checked the soldering and checked again (and again), so the only thing we could really do would be to desolder everything and start over again, but it really doesn't seem like there is anything wrong in that respect.
