Pre-flashed hacked FW CC still not working on V12
Pre-flashed hacked FW CC still not working on V12 –
08-24-2005,09:47 PM
I installed a CC on to my V12 PSTwo and could not flash it. I took it out and installed it in my friend's V4 and flashed it with hacked FW 1.5 and all originals and B/Us worked great. I also loaded BM1.6 on the Memory card. I took out the pre-flashed CC and put it back in the V12. The BM worked and boot up right away. The originals worked, but it just won't read the B/Us. FW upgrade disk, CDR, DVDR all not working.
I read there are many CC that is some what defected and will work only in V1 - V7, but not V9 - V13? I also heard if you pre-flash it on V4-V7 then put it in V12 and it will work OK? (appearantly not). Is there anyway to make the hack FirmWare pre-loaded CC work in the V12? or do I have to try to get a replacement? I hate replacement because 1) many won't replace it, 2) if they do it will take a super long time, 3) often you will get another defected one and start all over again.
How many CC, DMS4, Matrix Inf are having the same problem? I hard 1 of 10 or even 7 of 10 chips will not work on V12? Is this true? Which chip has the most success rate on V12? Does this mean we many have to throw away S40, $80, or more before we will get lucky and get the one CC that works on a V12? Is the CC team working on this problem?
Please share your experience as this is so frustrating.

Check this thread for the firmware and BM http://www.ps2newz.net/forums/showth...light=megapack
Chances are there is a wire astray on the v12 I have the same thing happen to me You might have to rewire the v12 to make sure you got it right. It will work on the v12

I've had 3 Crystals with similar problems.
Of those 3, 2 would flash in a Ver1-7 and then work in a Ver12.
The other still wouldn't work in the Ver12 but worked fine in a customers V5.
I installed a new Crystal in the Ver12 (existing wiring) and it flashed and worked fine.

CC chips with date codes 0435 and some 0436 may have problems with consoles from v9 and up. The reason for this is that some of the chips from these batches could not deliver the amount of current needed to patch the bus correctly (wires a - i).
If you remove the "Faulty" chip and place it in a v7 or lower it'll work fine. In some cases it will work if you flash it in a v7 first and then place it in a v9 or later, but this is not reccomended. I have tried it before and have had hassless with all of them.
