I installed the new chip on a v12 ps2, everything went fine, but when i started the ps2 all i got was a black screen, so when reading about this it says that it is normal and to make the firmware cd and boot from that. All I hear is a clicking sound when i put in the cd, keep in mind I still only have a black screen, so I put in a game just 2 see what happens, you can hear the game spin up an keep spinning but still just a black screen... So thinking I may have screwed up installing the chip, i reinstalled the chip and end up with the same problem... now really frustrated I uninstall the chip a second time and now I installed it on a V5 ps 2 with the same result, just a clicking noise with the firmware cd, and spins good with a game cd but a black screen.. please help.

Is it still working when you uninstall it?

Usually black screens are Bios bridges "if" i'm "not" mistaken.

Remember, which I think you do, You MUST install BootManger to this chip if you want anything to work, and I mean ANYTHING, black screens not included.

With the factory bios the CC2.0 wont boot to a black screen. It will boot to the sony browser. It however wont boot anything even originals until the FW and BM are installed. It sounds to me like you either have a bad install or maybe a bad chip, more likely as bad install. What does the diagnosis LED report?
