You know... I have paid many $ to get the best chip.. While I was buying it, ther were regular updates. Now I can't do simple things that even stupid, cheap Modbo or Duo3Gold does...
I agree with this complaint. When shopping for a chip I specifically stated that one of my two main requirements was to be able to prepare a hard drive using the Sony HDD utility disc and install the browser 2.0 (using ATAD patching). Crystal-Chip himself said that the CC 2.0 supported that feature. By the time I got the chip installed and mentioned that the feature did not work Crystal-Chip had stopped posting and all I got were a bunch of replies stating that I should not care about one of the primary features I was paying money for.Quote:

Like yourself I found that my other PS2 with a Duo3 Gold in it worked fine with the Sony browser and also had slightly better compatibility running games off of the hard drive with HDLoader.
I ended up reverting back to r29 of the firmwarre so I could get my DVDs to playback without bypassing the chip. Personally, i don't use the IGR or the video fixes (I don't play any PAL games, really, and the ones I do have already been patched for NTSC). I also don't notice the lack of ATAD since I only use my HDD for HDAdvanced ;).
Still, it sucks 35 isn't out yet. We can only hope this means it's going to be good versus they went out for lunch and didn't come back :(

a) not working dvd playback - You shouldn't watch DVDs with your PS2, that will only shorten the life of your laser. The region free feature is the only thing one could miss, but you can still rip the film to get rid of the region code.;)
b)not working IGR - This feature has just been introduced and it's working fine for some games. And no other chip has that feature.
c)not working PS2 video fixes - Only PAL video fixes don't work correctly, NTSC fixes are fine.
d)not working ATAD patching - ATAD patching works, it's just that the $ony HDD disc can't be booted with enhancements through BM, which has nothing to do with the ATAD patching itself. So you can't format your drive with the $ony HDD Tool and you can't install the browser 2.0. But honestly, who needs that crap? We have LaunchELF for all file and HDD management needs and it's a fact that it does a much better job than the crappy $ony browser. And how useful is "advanced keyboard and mouse support"? (tell me Hoyt, I really want to know, did you even try a HDD enabled game to see if ATAD is working?)

who need the crap ATAD?? is me , I Need it to install PS2 linux kit,browser 2.0 & access hdd with codebreaker.
for me ATAD not working at all .
I know most of you all using PS2 slim that why you not know how Hoyt ,me & all the Ps2 fat owner feel.

The case that bothers me, is that CC 2.0 SLE is the most expensive chip. I would expect, that if this is so "great" chip, then it should have all the basic functions working, and eventually some others (like IGR and 480p support).
Crystal Team have talked a few months ago about "loyalty", new updates and so on. Now I only get some infos from you, Jones23, and I don't even know whether they are true, or not.
Just as I said, it's like with Wiikey Team - the most expensive chip, announced updates - and now, it seems that it was all hype...
I REALLY hope, that during summer vacations something will show up...
