  1. #1 No discs will load CC1.1 Lite

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have checked and double checked all of the solder points. My PS2 is a v14 GH-040-52. I have verified that the chip is at least working because when it turned on, it was in German language (I'm assuming that it was the chip that caused that.)

I then used the diagnostic LED on the CC to verify proper install. The light comes on for about a second and then goes out. However, it doesn't read ANY discs (not originals or homebrew burned discs).

When I remove the CC from the PS2, it loads originals with no problem. Any suggestions on what I can try? Thanks.

This is just something to check but make sure you have ALL the screws in and they are all snug you need to make sure the metal sheild is making contact on all of the points. I had this problem when I was checking my mobo version and I didn't even place a chip in yet. I forgot to put the screw under the laser in and it would boot up just fine but it woudln't read any discs. So thats just something to check out.

now, 2 ground points in the middle of the ps2v12 isnt grounded because the chip blocks the 2 "ground arms" pointing down from the ground shield. can that be the problem?

I have exactly the same problem with a gh-037. The ps2 detect a disc. X enter. O back. I press X, the screen come black and go back to the last screen. I tried firmware disk and real ps2 disc.

I can read cd audio disk without problem.

It's my first time with a crystal chip. Is it normal that the LED is off ?

    Any idea ?

if firmware discs aren't booting then it could be that they aren't being generated correctly. look at this thread below.
