    Hi!

I have installed a crystal 2.0 chip in my ps2 slim with gh-051-32 mb, using the gh-051-02 pictures, as I couldent find the correct one, but the layout appears the same.

    well I have some problems.

I cant get the ps2 to load the 34 firmware cd - the screen gets black and the drive spins up.
I downloaded the 29 firmware, and with this I get the boot menu, but it fails when trying to flash the firmware - but I belive to have read that 2.0 only works with firmware 34.

Why will it load firmware 29 cd and not firmware 34 cd - I burned several copies, but the same.

when disabling the chip by pressing reset 6 times, it gives me the "insert ps cd..." when I insert the 34 firmware cd and not a black screen as in normal mode - does that mean that the cd wires are installed correct.
original games will only load when pressing reset 6 times.

the led on the chip in on for a short second when turning the ps2 on.
When pressing reset 3 times, the led lights, but I'm still not able to boot the firmware cd.

I have checked and double checked the wires and with an ohm-meter, I have checked the cd wires from the cc chip to the pins where the solder points goes into the large chip on the mb.

    Any help are appreciated!

    Regards Brian

Use cc_software_34_modified_v2 if this one not boot up use cc firmware 29 since your c.c is c.c 2.0 pro
burn your cd using imgburn (google it's free software)
try boot press reset button 3 time (recovery)
before installing BM and FW is to format the CC flash with the "Format dffs" option in the Firmware Manager,
then in stall bm & frimware
btw it's better you shorten your ground wire
Ps2 with crystal chip 2.0 pro

I agree shorten the ground wire. Also I no the crystal chips arent as fussy but i would change chip location so you can install without crossing so many of your bios wires
