Is it possible to install firmware from DVD ? (CD laser is dead)
Best regards Kim
Ja, jeg tror det, men du kan også installere den over netværk eller memorycard.
Yes I think so, but you can also install it if your PS2 is networked or from your memorycard.
the chip is brand new so i can't run annything from memcard, not even bm (installed on other ps2)... i even have to disable chip (6xreset) to play a original game. when i try running a dvd original or a copy of the ccupgrade files copyed to a dvd i only get the browser.

Think the previous owner have changed the laser... Laser mounted is a KHS-400C in a ps2 v10, will it work witout running lenschanger tool if the former laser was a Sanyo HD7 ?
Best regards Kim
Well.. Do you start the chip in sleep mode when trying to boot the firmware, cause that won't upgrade it. I think you should try burning it to a cd anyway (I understand you've had problems booting cds previously, but try anyway).
If I get my PS2 working, you can send a memory card to me, and I'll put on some firmware for you (I'm still not certain about it being able to update it from your memory card), and I'll send it back to you. Mind you, I have to have my own ps2 working first...
Hi
Cd laser is dead!!!, and it won't boot firmware from dvd disc. Moved the chip to a working Ps2, flashed it, and moved it back. The usb and memcard is for upgrade i guess, and this isn't an upgrade, it is the first firmware flash!
Works now, would be great if it would be possible to flash your "virgin" chip from usb/memcard/dvd also.
Best regards Kim
