Here's two pics of my first install ever.

I have to thank dimaxzouze and spedmetal specifically for their help. That information was very helpful and the pics were great for reference.

Also I have to give credit to all of the mod chip retailers (specifically norcalmods and mod-chips) for all of the detailed information and pictures I was able to find.

Most importantly psx-scene.com has offered an incredible amount of reference material for me to ensure I was doing this right.

Enough of that. Here's the results (I know they're not the best but, I'm kinda proud of this, being the first time and all) . . . .

PS: I have to post at least 15 times in order for the images to be embedded so I could only attach them. I'm not going to post-whore just to get them embedded.

Very nice work, you should be proud.

Seein how fast you learned that job it makes me wonder how quickly you could change out the main shaft seal in a four speed Shovelhead transmission

    Thanks guys.

I'd imagine that if I could get the kind of support and reference materials I was able to find for the mod chip install (from how-to-solder to images for wire routing!!) for the Shovelhead tranny main shaft seal swap-out, I'd give it a shot.

I'm not saying I could definitely do it. I'm just saying there was TONS of material to research so I could ensure my install went the best it could.

That would be my #1 suggestion to first time installers . . . research, research, research. Then, when you think you're done, research some more. Even if you think the smallest detail would be a silly question . . . it's worth asking because despite all the "haters" who may flame you for the question, there will be one kind soul who provides that one essential morsel of knowledge that you were lacking.

    Thanks again for the compliments.

My next effort will be an Xbox 360 HDD upgrade and mod chip install. Probably going to tackle that mid-summer (have to scrape together the loot for the console, hdd and chip)

    Cheers!!
