Hi All...just got my new ps2 with CC 2.0 and it has played fine this whole week and booted everything...

when i was playing with the BM I must have pressed something wrong and the screen went blank...i tried pressing the reset button 3 times and six times....the BM doesn't show up...I tried unplugging the power and connecting after again and still nothing...I just got it last week and till now it was fine... I downloaded and installed the update onto a cd with nero and the ps2 couldn't read it...

    what do i do??

am i suppose to reinstall the BM manually??

If it doesn't boot backups then it probably something with the chip. either a wire that came off or something or the firmware is corrupted. I would go more for a chip problem as the firmware should reset and boot the upgrade disc if its just a firmware issue. If it's giving the black screen, then its somethign with the bios wires or the chip usually. If you can take it apart or look inside, there is a light on the chip that gives install info. If it's solid, then it's a bios issue. If it flashed on and off but disc don't read, then it's usually a dvd/cd controller wire problem.

Maybe but if he was messing with the BM settings its very likely that he formatted the cflash and erased BM from it which will not allow the CC2.0 to boot anything. This can be over come by entering the recovery mode and reinstalling with a properly burnt upgrade disc.

Doubtful that the cflash is corrupted, most likely has to do with my above reply.

If the upgrade disc wasn't burned correctly this same result would happen. Also do not forget that you will now have to enter the recovery mode at this point otherwise you will just get a black screen.

Correct but if the cflash has been formated you will also get a black screen even with correctly installed bios wires. And the chip wouldn't become defective from him just pocking around in BM all of a sudden. My bet is he removed BM by accident.

I may be wrong but I get the impression you had this chip installed by someone. You may want to contact them first before opening your console.

    Good luck.
