Hi there.
I am in a bad situation. The thing is, i was just playing around trying to resolve why my CC chipped PS2 didn't work. I became pissed off and shoved my soldering iron hard into the mobo a few times, because i realized i had screwed it up beyond repair. Anyhoo. This means i need a new PS2, and i want to fit it in my fancy pink case. I need a chip badly, but no way in hell am i doing the CDVD points myself (i screwed up scraping the covering above the points away, i sort of broke them in pieces and scraped almost through the mobo). And i am sitting on an expensive CC 2.0 SLE.
SOOO. New console + chipping (using my chip) + shipping back & forth = roughly 350 dollars here. Brand new console chipped with Aladdin 75k+ (MI Clone) = 250 dollars shipped.
So, here's my plan:
Buy chipped console with the cheapo chip.
Uninstall the chip (do not touch CDVD points, probably not BIOS either)
Install the CC 2.0 SLE in its place (the chip points are easy to solder, a child could probably do it).
The chip's layouts are VERY similar, so this should be an easy job..
Only complications is that i am not able to "translate" what some points on the cheap chip become on the MI. I would appreciate any help! I attached a copy of the Aladdin installation diagram.
So far i have this:
As you can see, i only think that RE = T0, and i don't which one on the Aladdin is. I culd also solder HA and T0 myself as per the official CC diagram, they're not hard points i think (only the CDVD, they're so tight). I don't think CC needs CLK? Is that clock frequency? :/Code:Aladdin - Crystal Chip A - A B - B F - F G - G H - H I - I Y - HA??!?!? (Unsure, probably is) S - SX RE -T0??? (Unsure, but probably is) CLK - HA???!? (Unsure, probably is NOT). R - R W - W M - M N - N O - O P - P Q - Q T - T U - U V - V
Is this doable, and a good idea? It would be the cheapest and fairly simple. Also, does my "translation" between Aladdin and CC appear correct? Thanks.
