    i have a CC2.0 and BM v2.06

how the hell do i get BM to read my usb and see the spplications i want to install?

    ccwiki.psx-scene.com/index.php/Crystal_Chip_-_BootManager_-_Application_Installation_Tutorial#Installation_fr om_USB

i was following the tutorial on this site, but i dont know what this means:

"You should already be able to burn your own firmware CD, before you try to install apps."

    firmware for what?

    "Prepare your App
Extract the official firmware and LaunchELF to the harddrive. "

what does this mean? i wish it was better explained.

basically i downloaded the correct megapack and its for my BM version. i extracted it to a usb pen but my ps2 didnt see anything on it. i thewn realise i need to "prepare" my application before hand. how do i do this??

Many thanks in advance for all help. just got my ps2 now and want to start using its features!

Hi, you need to put the BM folder in your USB flash drive... so you must download this http://ccwiki.psx-scene.com/megapack..._pack_rls3.zip then open the zip there a folder named -fw- ... then a folder named -files- then your -BM- .. thats the folder you need ... So put the BM folder from the mega pack you just downloader in your usb put you usb stick in your ps2 then go application and finaly choose install and choose usb ... you now see all application you wish too install good luck sorry for my broken anglish .. !!

NOTE: Make sure your USB device is formated in FAT(16) or FAT32. Some devices only work with FAT32, some devices are not supported by the PS2's USB drivers.

    1. Copy the "BM" folder from your firmware directory to the root of your USB pendrive.
    2. Connect the USB stick to your PS2 and turn on the PS2. Go to the "Application Browser" in the BootManager main menu.
    3. Choose "Install Application" ,choose "USBHDD", choose "LaunchELF", choose the device you wish to install the app to and push "X". Now, LaunchELF is being installed to the device of your choice.
    4. To start the application , go back to the "App Browser" with the "circle" button and select the app inside the "Run Application" menu on the device it was installed to.
That's how it works. But it was called "fw/FILES/BM" folder on the MegaPack page, which can be misinterpreted easily. I just corrected it to say "BM" folder now.

ok, well i had a look at most of the apps and i wondering how to use the snes emu?

I installed the PSNES to my memory card, then when i tried to run it there was a black screen for few secondsa, then it just restarts Boot Manager, and that's it?

also everyone keeps mentions LaunchELF as a key app to install. what is it?

No, and what would be the use of doing it? If it already is on the USB drive, why install it again?

Never tried PSNES myself, so I don't know if it works at all. The best SNES emu is SNES Station and it should work fine, but it's still far from perfect. Refer to the Homebrew forum for more informations.

It's the most outstanding app for the PS2 besides SMS.
uLE is an ELF launcher, a filebrowser, a HDD manager, a network server (FTP and PC Host) and a JPEG viewer. You can backup your gamesaves to a USB drive with the psuPaste function, which is the best thing about it as you can have unlimited MC space with only one 8MB card.

What I meant was, installing from the USB to the USB so I can run them from the USB.

Like, right now, SMS is on the MC (I installed it there), but I wanna install it to my USB so this way, it'll free space from the MC.

Installing an APP is only copying the APP from the source device to the destination device. That's why you don't have to install your application on the USB drive if it's already here. Just run it !
