how to fix BM icon? –
01-04-2006,06:35 PM
greetings.
since some CCfirmware version, the BM folder in the mc browser appears as "corrupted data". Is there a way to fix this? I believe it misses a few files in /boot dir, so could someone post what's needed? or older icon files (I don't have old BMs)
thanks.

Its normal I have that too but I dont understand how you got to that if your MC was still in slot, but anyways the onyl way for that too happen is if you take it out start ps2 then put your Mc and you'll get to be able to go to MCbrowser
then you'll find that it's corrupted data and I think that is notmal

yes I know that but previous BM did have a correct icon showing.
I know it doesn't change functionnality but it looks cleaner when the icon is here

You can manualy put the icon files in the Boot folder yourself to fix this issue.

there are 2 files that should be the icon files already (BMAN.ICM , ICON.SYS) in /BOOT; I can see them with launchelf. However it still appears as corrupted. So I would either need older files (since older BMs did have correct icons), or files I'm eventually missing (as I said I do not have older BM versions).

With mcIconSysGen.exe and bmp2icon.exe you can create your own .ico and .sys files and call them whatever you like and have them look however you like.
