HELP W/ hacked f/w b/m!
err! i just got my modded ps2 model: "scph- 30001 R" ( i know i know its an oldie) i was able to boot the hacked 34 firmware. upgraded the firmware and booted the b/m to both the cc flash and memory card. i turned it off and put in a back up of call of duty 3. it proceeded to b/m but did not read it. i tried pressing "load media" but it did nothing. the ps2 sounded like it was unable to read it. you could hear it reading then clicking, reading then clicking. i dont know what to do! what good is a chip if i doesnt play burned games! somebody please help!

have you tried a ps1 game or even the firmware disk to see if your system reads cdr's or another type of dvd disk??? I had the same problem a few days back only i was able to read everything(cdr, dvd+R, dvd dl) except dvd-r's. I then adjusted the dvd laser pot and am now enjoying every disk. Hope this info might help you out. let us know

Actually its the other way around for me, DVD+R over DVD-R. Just be sure to burn at 2-2.4x .. I've burnt beer coasters at higher speeds.

If your ps2 is old like mine....I would recommend using DVD+R and believe me or not the brand does make a big difference. I have noticed burning at 8-12x works almost 98% or the time using verbatim or fujistu media. You start using crap like maxwell and memorex you'll need to play around till you figure out what your laser likes and doesn't like.:chinscrat
