    hey, guys.
I completed my installation job last night. It can be flashed with the hacked firmware by the cd-r. But when I try to install Bootmanage, it said 'failed to copy bm2.elf'. I guess it wants to copy files to a memory card, but I have no card there.

    So it can read the Cd-r. But when I insert the burned Sony DVD+R games, it appear a screen. At the left top, it says 'plastation@2 disk';
at the middle bottom, there are two choices, 'enter or back'.
And in the middle of the screen is a golden disk with a star shining.
I dont know if it is the 'red screen' as you said, cuz maybe it changed and would never be 'red'.

It is also the same to my dvd movies. But when i press the reset for 6 times to disable the mod, it can read the movies again. But i have no original disk at hand, so I can't tell if this also works for the games.

Some time it does boot into the game, and it play well. I have to put reset button again and again, and i will have 1/10 change to get into the games. But when i carefully turn off the power and turn on again, it happens again.

Please help me, what's wrong with my installation? i just missed the F
point cuz I will never use DVD+RW disks. All the other wires look good.

And the first preliminary mod-chip test for bios wires is good.

I am a novice with this chip as well, but I just finished an installation and will share what I learned.

The problem you are having with burned DVD movies is the same one that I have. I have no solution for it and I have asked about it in a different thread. You need to put your original DVD movie in and power off/on/reset to see if it auto boots.

I could not tell if you installed the Boot Manager or not. Other posts on the forum indicate if the BM is not installed no games will boot. I chose to install my BM on the CC flash Drive. Perhaps you could install it there if you do not have a memory card to put it on. I do think it has to be present.

The fact that you can read the firmware CD and that you can activate HSM to me indicates your installatin is ok.

Read through my thread nad see if you can get any tidbits that might help you.

    Good Luck to you.

You really should begin by buying a Memory Card. CC needs it to install Boot Manager, and by the way, you'll need one to make you saves !

In my case, I have no original game, no memory.
But my memory card is on its way here.
And my CC is 1.2 lite and I can't install the BM into the chip.

Not being able to install the BM is a big problem if no BM, no boot. But I am afraid it is not all because of BM, since sometimes I DO boot into the games.
And once I am in, I can always in if I only press the reset button.
But if I turn off the power and turn on again, the problem comes up again.

Waiting for my memory card coming, I will buy a multimeter to check my installation again.

You should be able to boot games and movies without BM with the CC1.2, so there's something else wrong. Definitely check your installation, this sounds like a cold solder point.

Well, I have found out the problem.
Yesterday, I opened the console again and check all the connections again and again with the multimeter. All are perfect.
I am confused, that should not be my problem, but what's wrong then?
It must be the manual that I referred to. The manual is downloaded from Mod-chip.com where I bought the CC 1.2.
Firstly, I check the diagram, its all the same as here.
Secondly, I check the firmware, its also downloaded from here.
There seems to be no problems. But I saw that the manual said I have to burn the CD-R firmware with firmware.CUE.
That's not what I used to do with my pc games iso. Sometimes with *.cue is really different with loading with a *.bin.
So here I found jones23's thread for hacked_firmware_29. It should be burned with the bin file with a mode2. As it says, I burned my 5th CD-R and flashed the fm. It works perfectly.

Thank you all for your help. I hope this could also work for others with the same problem.
