Help with first time install on v14

Hi all,

Just looking for some tips on soldering the CD/DVD controller connections - particularly removing the insulation layer on those points with the tiny holes. I'm trying to carefully scrape it off with a small slotted screwdriver for what seems like forever and a day and don't seem to be getting anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Another thought was the soldering part... I was considering perhaps boring the hole a litte - just enough to fit the wire through to then solder on the other side of the board. Has anyone had success with this aproach?

i think making a hole would be a bad idea causing the connections to short out. see when i was modding my system i scraped the via ports a little to hard and i had to send it out to get reparied. dont know if this will help. just some info on my past experience.

I got there in the end, just had to be persistant with the HA port. The rest wern't so bad.
