hd with crystal 1.1 lite?

I recently bought a pre mod ps2 from xmodds.com I havent recived the ps2 yet but have some questions. The guy I talked with at xmodds said he didn't think that the crystal 1.1 lite was compatible with a hard drive? Is this true? Maybe on a future update for the chip this will be added? I would really like to be able to use a usb hard drive but if I can't I will live with it seeing I just sent my xbox out for modding with a 250 gig hd that I can do alot of homebrew and emulators on. I guess it would just be cool if I could do it with the ps2 also!!

I dont know why he would have told you that. With the CC chips you can install HD-Loader to the memory card and boot it with Boot Manger and boot PS2 back-ups from an HDD. Now if this was a pre-modded V14 then no you wont have HDD support and he was right.
