Having a Problem Loading FW
Having a Problem Loading FW –
Hi there. This is the first time that i have installed a modchip in a PS2. I have a CC 2.0 pro. I installed it and had a slight mix up on the bios wires. I have fixed the problem and everything seems to run fine. My problem is that I put in a ps2 game and it goes to the browser and restarts every time I try to play the game. I assume its because i havent installed the firmware yet. I tried to burn the fw 29 normal and hacked and neither will load. I've tried burning with alcohol and nero with memorex and maxell cd's. Everytime i put it in it tries to read a few times, stops, then goes to the screen that says "Please inset a PlayStaion or PlayStaion 2 format disc". Is there something I am doing wrong or is there possibly a problem with the chip, or maybe wiring?
If anyone could steer me in the right direction i would appreciate it.
u sure none of the CD/DVD wires are wrong?
I am pretty sure i can check them again though
ur burning the img to the CDR not a RW and not just burning the image file onto the CDR? and what console version are u using curious...
I am using cdr's... I followed the instrucions on the CC website and in read me... and i have a v 1/2 gh-005 (original launch date)
one thing i forgot to mention when installing i noticed the SX wire diagram part on mine looked like the gh-004 not the 005
wow v1/2 thouse are a bitch. Just did my v7 with a cc2.0 2 days ago burned the image to a CDR of the hacked fw it booted flashed everything went fine. So i'm guessing its probably ur install not the CDR. Got any pics of ur install?
Yeah I did the cd part first but everything looked good, no bridges took my time (took 2 hrs for whole thing) the bios is where i had a lil trouble
I have no pics of the install (no camera) and i just finished checking and metering all the wires and everything looks good. I had a feeling when i saw the SX wire was more like the 004 instead of the 005 on my board something wasnt going to work,
I think i may have found a problem, the 10K surface mounts to line A looks to be bad :-( i will replace it then hopefully it will work
