Can someone help me out. I've got a crystal chip I put in ages ago...and now I don't know how to use it.
.
I don't know what "version" it is, firmware or oS? How can I check and update?
Second....how the F do I get the thing to recognize an app on my memory card. It's that scripting jazz....
Could you point in the right direction?
I'd like to setup the crystal bootmanager so I can boot both LaunchELF and OpenPS2 Loader.
EDIT: Figured out the apps. Directory goes likes this "X:\BM\APPS\***.ELF", but you must include a APPINFO.PBT with the ELF (same directory) made for that ELF.
Here is a online generator I found.!!!!!
http://downlord.net/tools/pbtmaker.php
I still need help with identifying what kind of software/firmware I have an updating it.
Is it also feasible to automatically launch into an app from the memory card, but when I take the mem card out, I resume to the Crystal Boot Manager?

Just go here and burn the zipped files to a CD like you would any image at a low speed. The go to your Ps2, hit the reset button 3 times from a cold boot, AKA the red standby light is on, and the insert the CD and it should auto-run, letting you update your CC Bios and install the latest BM!
If you have any issues, post again.

I may or may not already have 34 v 2. Can I check?
Also what is behind the 3 reset thing. What does that do?
I figured out how to auto launch my memory card0 LaunchELF by default. There is an option under the autoboot settings.
Thanks for the reply. Its an old forum section.

Hitting reset 3 times puts it into "recovery" mode so that you can install and update/downgrade the firmware. Whichever you wish to do. To check the firmware version, taking you can still get into the BM, just look under the "System Information" from the main menu and it wil tell you what BM version you have. I would just update anyway though.

I found BM version....but what about FW version?
Thanks for the info p3nnyw1sd0m. Its kinda hard having such a dead tech in my PS2....but I kinda just wanna get along w/ it, rather than take it out/switch to a new exploit, etc.

FW version is not displayed anywhere because there never was a real FW version. There's only BM version and software release version.
And speaking of dead tech, that applies to all PS2 modchips and some were dead long before the CC, e.g. DMS.
