Dvd Video Region

WHen i want to watch a DVD from France (PAL) or , they said to me : TV system doesn't match .... but in BM i put this on the proper region (2) ... i dont understantd b bause on my comptuter it work fine ....

I think you misunderstood the way region setting works, if you set it to region 2 every DVD will have region 2 and can only be played by PS2s of the same region. To get region2 dvds working on your PS2 you have to set it to the region of the PS2 (e.g. 1 for USA, Canada), or to region 0, which can be played on every PS2.

my ps2 console is from canada (so its region 1 ..) but its dont work .. when i tried to put my DVD PAL REGION 2 of Reservoir DOgs.. they said the same msg TV system doesn't match ....

Which software release are you using? DVD video booting in R34 is broken, and when you disable the chip to watch dvds, there (naturally) aren't any patches and fixes active.

IIRC, NTSC PS2s can't play PAL DVDs, even with the region free feature, due to some lacks in the DVD player software.

btw, what was the last firmware, which on dvd were working, 29? That would be sad, because i can't install it on my SLE.... I am getting more, and more frustrated, because there are a few functions not working on my "high-end" chip

I think it still worked in R33, but honestly, you shouldn't watch DVDs with your PS2 at all, that will only shorten the life of your laser. Get a standalone dvd player, they're really cheap by now, like 20 - 30€.
