I recently installed a Crystal 2.0 SLE modchip in my V7 PS2 and I noticed the DVD would work intermittently. I noticed that when i tightened down the screws under the PS2 it would not work and when I loosened them the DVD drive worked. I went back into the PS2 and checked all the connections and put electric tape on over all the points. Its odd because when the DVD drives doesn't work the modchip still works and boots up into the boot manager. Has anyone experienced this problem?

I guess I should specify what i mean by the dvd drive not working. The dvd drive will open up and allow me to put in a disk but the drive will not spin up. Also if i want to shut off the ps2 I have to hold down the reset button for about 5 seconds.

I found out that my chip was grounding to the metal shielding plate. This was causing the issue. I thank everyone for there wounderful input in helping me solve this situation. Your input was the foundation of my installation.
