Does Crystal Chips Play Backups?

Hey i was just reading the Crystal Chips site , are the modchips not for playing backups of games ? Sorry for making 2 threads but there 2 different questions

Selling a flashed modchip to play backups would be illegal

So if you want to play backups you will need to flash the chip with hacked flash.Am I correct?

How can i tell when i have the firmware that lets me play back ups ???? Please someone tell me a detailed info on where i can get a walkthrough of this or just tell me in a post plz i will def. owe you one

I read that , and i need to figure out how to install it , i've read that thread several times , i'm just askin for someoen to put it into terms for a noob lol any help ?

short answer : download the hacked firmware, burn the CD, boot your PS2 with it, update firmware, install BM2.

how come neely all chips except crystals come with a flash that play backups

I'm not saying there flashed are not if you see my post I was asking myself?
But anyone selling preflashed chips is not very smart.
