    Was there a February release?
It's just a roadmap. It doesn't say there was a release. It just states how far and what the CC team is doing in regards to BootManager.

if you ever tryied to code ASM or low level language you could understand why it's so long...

If you can't wait that much why don't you sell your CC and buy another ?? IMO this is the FAST ans easy way... but if you want to keep your CC... then wait....

I got a CC... i enjoy it......I know there is some bug with it... (for CHEATING ?? device...) anything else ? I dont like booting elf from BM.. i always use uLaunchelf... ..... anyway

Personally I get the feeling that development on the Crystal chips has ceased. With the end of the PS2's life fast approaching it's not really suprising, would be nice to see one last release, but I've given up waiting on it. One bug has been driving me nuts since the day I installed it and as much as I love the CC for all its goodness, sadly I think I'll have to swap it out for something else.

yo why don't you all just stop whining. It's not easy to make a fully skinned BM. You ever tried to make program in C? It's hard because you have to allocate your own memory, not like C++ with heap management, there's other like Java. That's what they have to do to make skinnable themes for BM. Man if they're gonna make it tight like that, you should know it's not easy. Plus they said they're working on ps1 fix too, which I don't really care about either....I don't play that much ps1 games and if I want to I just pull out the freakin mem card.

    Indoweed,

I've been programming since the early eighties. Professionally (full time, for a living) since about 1990. I've done Assembly-level on 5-6 different families of processors, including 8080 bare boards that you program in hex, 65xx/68xx machines, x86, VAX minis, and others. I developed software for a range of machines, from embedded microcontrollers to IBM mainframes. I wrote more C and C++ lines of code than I care to count ranging from real-time telephony to client-server applications. And I can tell you two things:

    1) Don't talk about things that you don't know jack about. You're embarrassing yourself.

    2) Delivering quallity software on time is something that a lot of people do all the time. I appreciate those who do it but I don't see it as something exeptional (mostly since for the last 10 years, my family's standard of living depends on my ability to do exactly that). All it takes is knowledge, dedication and discipline.

There's three consecutives posts whining about CC not releasing updates. I feel the need to step in. The Agent posted the last entry in roadmap back on 3-22. That's less than 3 months. In case you haven't noticed, modchip business isn't like an ordinary business. I remember when nobody thought CC team was gonna release new firmware...and everybody thought they were dead...then they proved alot of ppl wrong. Then they released CC 1.1 a few months later. In my original post I wasn't trying to say what I know about C programming...I was trying to explain why maybe it's taking them so long. Okay, I also know about programming in assembly and C. I was just informing the newbs that don't know about programming, why it's so hard. C and memory management is a hassle. Sure they'll release it in a hurry ,but it's buggy as hell and crashes all the time. Is that what you want?

I don't agree with you about it not being exceptional....when it comes to ps2 programming I see it as yes it is.... and will definitely stand by my statement 100%. Dude, considering ps2 is not like an xbox, in respect to it being not as pc-friendly as an xbox is. I believe that coding for ps2 is hard, therefore people who write software for ps2 do get my sincere recognition. As, per your statement "Delivering quallity software on time is something that a lot of people do all the time. I appreciate those who do it but I don't see it as something exeptional".

also, quoting you, "All it takes is knowledge, dedication and discipline."
So youre saying CC is lacking one of those or all of those? Because if that's true then I guess CC team isn't one of the top modchip makers, right? Certainly took over dms lately. That only leaves them with Matrix.

Advice: continue to support your family and stop worrying about when somebody's going to release a new firmware.

edit: Actually there are 4 posts in a row whining about a release
