New Thread for the New Release....post your bugs here :D
Release 22 is now out with fixes for PS1 video. Please do not report this bug in Release 21.
Wow...out with a couple releases today. Well...just changed up the title to Release 22 then ;)
Well the v1.1 128kb chip (v1.2) still doesn't boot up up
with the new firmware.
When I press the reset button several times it boots up.
The strange thing is firmware installer v22 won't start up
anymore with v22 firmware in flash. It locks up at the blue
startscreen.
Downgrade to v19 still works.
Here again some results from my testing:
- CDDA doesn't boot. The CDs seem to be not recognized. After boot up nothing happens, but when I open and close the tray it acts like "no disc" and boots up uLE(my autoload no disc app).
- The video mode selection in the BM configuration is kind of wierd. Pushing right switches between PAL and VGA and pushing left switches between NTSC and VGA
- The autoload conf menu looks strange when scrolling up from the bottom. It's "running out of the screen" and moves back to the top. Look at it and you'll know what I mean.
- When changing the Screen X and Y settings in the BM conf the screen flickers and skips.(when holding down left or right button)
- Activating sleep mode still takes over 1min.
- The autoload on no disc is fully functionable now!:) Great work!:applaud: I've waited looong for this feature.
- Ps1 games load just fine like always.:)
And now for some feature requests:
- Is it possible to display the choosen autoload app in the autoload conf menu?
- I miss the disc type symbols (PS1/PS2 game, DVD, CDDA) that used to be displayed on the top of the start screen of BM1.X:(
- Are there plans to implement VGA mode for PS1/PS2 games? Think that would be a nice feature.
And now for something completely different:;)
I created a workaround for the CDDA problem.:D I wrote a application script that launches the PS2's internal Browser and System Configuration. More info and download here.

There still seem to be PS1-related problems with Software Release 22.Quote:

PS1 NTSC games are not displayed correctly on my PAL console.
Instead of being displayed in full screen, there's a large black letterbox at the bottom of the screen. As a consequence, the actual game screen is displayed vertically compressed.
AFAIR this problem has existed since Software Release 19.
With BootManager versions of previous sofware releases, PS1 NTSC games were displayed in full screen on my PAL console.
@ Ruebeman:
Try to change the Y position value. Maybe that helps.
EDIT: OK that doesn't change anything.:(
I have to agree that there's a problem with the PS1 video fixes. The Screen X/Y Modifier has no effect at all and I always have a colourful picture, even if the NTSC-fixes are deactivated.

There does't seem to be a connection between PS1 NTSC enhancement settings and this issue.Quote:

unfortunately some bugs remained in the PS1 video fixes. These are(hopefully) resolved now. We will wait 1-2 more days before our next release, however so that we may finish fixing the CC1.2 issues.
CDDA has now been fixed.
I have a CyrstalChip 1.2 installed in a v7 PS2 and can confirm that R22 does not work.
