Ver14 / SCPH-75001 / CC1.0
Black screen at turn on with no memory card inserted.
As mentioned on the Crystal website, PS1 games fail to load (hangs at black screen)
Cheers,
GTZ
Ver4 PAL (UK) Possibly the R revision (Its been a while since I've been inside it).
This bugs not just with the latest release its been around for a while (possible always).
Within bootmanager the PS2 doesn't recognise some Backup DVD Films, the latest example is:
War.Of.The.Worlds.NTSC.DVDR-Replica
Rather than the icon change to DVD film it stays at ? However on previous releases I could boot these with the memory card removed (without BM loaded). Unfortunatly this meant I couldn't play NTSC films as I couldn't make use of an RGB Scart (Green tint otherwise).
Being a ver4 I'm sure people will say "Laser", the lasers out of a ver9 and probably had six months use (Not much thanks to HDloader), also why could it boot the films without BM loaded.
Its really no great shakes to me though, so if I'm the only one effected its probably not worth the hassle. Though if the Crystal team we're to add an option where I could force DVD-firm mode (like old modchips), I can honestly say I'd never want another update again - The chip does everything and 10X more than I need![]()
Thanks to another user (jediskilz173) who tested it,action replay with BM doesn't work

Just a quick update....... recovered the flash using the firmware 18 update and all up and running. Aside from the known ps1 problem, works a treat. Great work guys![]()

Hi,
running applications from USB seems to be behaving a little strange...
I had a flash usb drive attached and tried to install apps from my MC0. BM copied all application folders to the root of the flash drive, but couldn't find them.
I then copied the "Boot" folder from MC0 (with launchelf), and BM still couldn't find them. After that, I deleted the applications from the USB drive and then installed again via BM. BM copied the apps, but found only some of the applications.
Well that's it for now... I'll investigate a little more later, but now I feel like playing Xenosaga...

i copied the boot folder from mc0 to my pendrive. BM finds all apps, but when i try to start them screen turns black![]()
If BM 1.7 is installed to memory card after a previous BM release was deleted, BM 1.7 will be displayed as corrupted data inside the Sony PS2 browser.
If a previous BM release is directly overwritten with BM 1.7, the BM 1.7 icon will be normaly displayed inside the Sony PS2 browser.
This issue is still present.
V5 NTSC PS2
-loading psone in boot manager freezes the system, need to remove memory card and psone boots fine
-force NTSC on PAL ps2 games causes games to run in PAL mode, remedy is to set these to auto and it runs fine
So the firmware is now 1.8 but the BM is still 1.7??? I downloaded modroberts hacked cc firmware R18 and the BM is still 1.7, little confused on that. I flashed the firmware first and tried booting with no memory card and I dont get the black screen so I'm guessing the firmware is 1.8.
I propose that every time a new firmware is released the BM weather anything changed in BM ... BM's version number should stay consistent with the firmware version. This way you will see the BM version in the manger and also know your firmware version.
