gd mrng please help me to solve this problem

i have a crystal chip on a new sony ps2 thin 7004 and while inserting a game no metter if its original or copied it does not start but if i take the power of the unit and re insert it then all ok and can play the game please advise if you have any idea what is causing this problem on my new unit.
