It would be nice if any of the chip teams did this with their software/firmware, but none have.
That link to the cc wiki is currently not working. For anyone still looking for the cc wiki, the original wiki is still online and can be found here (see post #1 from spedmetal), or you can download the whole thing here for offline storage.
I know, I was actually just reading over an old post by the CC team about Release 35, saying how they were only a few weeks away from releasing it with BM 3.0 and a secret surprise feature, but sadly it was never released. I was thinking maybe one of the developers, or someone close to the developers might someday release the source anonymously, but that's just a hope. Thanks to all the new developments in homebrew (Free MC Boot, etc), I don't even need to use my ps2 with the crystal chip anymore, but still would be nice to see something new relating to the crystal chip. The only thing I was really looking forward to was IGR being fixed, quote from the CC Team: "In-Game-Reset, another feature only available on Crystal Chips, is now working with almost every single game with few black screens after reset!" I'm now hoping ffgriever's IGR - proof of concept release somehow becomes more then just a concept, since this is probably the last feature I feel would complete my setup (IGR in HDLoader) and make gaming on the PS2 even more enjoyable.
The Crystal Team is definitely out of commission and have been for a while now, although Jones23 has made some further improvements to the Release 34 hacked firmware. It's minor compared to what could be done with the source code, but it's better than nothing.
I'm not sure if anyone really cares or would need anything from the official Crystal Chip website (now offline), but if you are interested, I am just finishing up restoring the site to its original state. I will upload it as a downloadable offline version as soon as it's done. I'm just missing screen shots from the "Burning disc images" tutorials for Alcohol and BurnAtOnce, and a few other unimportant images. But it basically looks exactly how it was when it was online, without all those code error warnings all over the place ; ).

I didn't think anyone still visited that incomplete version of the ccwiki, so I took it down from the site there.
I uploaded the offline version of the Crystal Chips website a few months ago, you can get it here (Crystal-Chips.com Site with CCWiki (Offline Version)).

Any firmware updates past CC 34 v2?
Even with this thread appearing dead I appreciate the efforts made here. I'm proud of my Crystal Chip install I did last night and I need to spend some time to learn it's system and capabilities. I'm glad these threads and this site are still available.
hello everybody this is my first post... im 31 years old and just recently got my hands on crystal chipped ps2 and i love it... i do have a few questions though... i have searched high and low and have found no answers to my problem so here it is... i got my system and i have no idea how to access any of its features... i have no clue what crystal chip is in it... the system boots ps2 backups no problem but wont play ps1 backups... id just like to be able to get into some sort of config menu you know... although it does have that great sticker on the side... is their any sort of key combo i can hit during start up to access anything? im really perplexed by this
thanks for this great site and im sorry in advance if im asking redundant questions... i did use the search feature but found no answers on this
No button combos, you have to install BootManager (BM) to get access to the CC's features.
Download this: http://psx-scene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48790 (CC Software 29 hacked) or this http://psx-scene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=57917 (CC Software 34 modified v2!) , burn to disc, boot it in your PS2, goto System Information to see which CC you got, then install BM. For CC 1.x BM has to be installed to Memory Card, for CC 2.x you install it on the chip.
