Exactly what i need to get going! Thanks! What equipent do you use? Temperature and solder? I use kester .25mm and weller WD1M, WMRT, RT1 tip at 310C for small parts and 340C for "big" ie gnd and 3.3v. Waiting for the RT1S since everything seems to get smaller since i got my mil. solder licence. :-)

@wizpsycho thank you
1) WESD51 with ETO or ETS tip
2) .025 Kester #66/44
3) Everything soldered at 700F with the exception of HD-Connect/Combo which I turn down to around 500F
4) Page or Wilco kynar
5) GC flux
6) High grade tweezers
7) Super glue and wax paper to tack the wires down with.

Great!
I was woundering, the top left solderingpoint seems to differ slightly from the one found on the cc homepage, SX in square one
ww.crystal-chips.com/documents/diagrams/cc11/cc11_v15a.jpg
Where du you put that?
Itt seems you put if furter down close to the IC, is it still the SX?
Thanks for your help, great help!

No boot after mod.... –
02-09-2007,05:45 AM
I modded the chip according to the install pic in gh-51-02 on the
chrystal homepage. And it boots up and does the internal check without a problem, but it wont boot the cd, i unsoldered the whole thing - it run lika a dream, but as soon as i put the chip back it does not work, have tried with and without the F cable, but same difference.
I suspect there might be a problem with the dvd cords but i havent found a technical enough description on the cc2.0 to errorcheck.
I want to be sure that the soldering points are right before i do something more
because i am allmost sure it is something else wrong (Tried with 2 different cc2.0 cards btw to eleminate that)
Very interested in the alternate solderingpoint speed metal used and posted here in this forum.
Is it possible to check connection from the points you solder in the DVD? A, B.... area and the corresponding leg on the IC up from thise soldering points, with instrument?
Happy for reply!

Have you tried booting up the Firmware/BM upgrade disc? I had the same problem and it turned out the firmware that was on the chip when I got it, wasn't working with my v14. After I flashed it and upgraded it to the current release... everything worked fine. Create an update disc and give it a shot.

Actually there's no FW on the CC when you first get it.
The first thing you always have to do after installation is flashing the FW, no matter which PS2 model you have.
