Crystal Chip 1.1 Intermittent - Need Advice!

Hi guys. I paid someone $85 online to mod my ps2 with crystal chip 1.1 (before i found this site ).

It came back and it worked for a while...then stopped.

First it would not display anything on the screen and my TV would say 'no signal'..but somehow 'fixed' itself. (thankfully that problem has never come back)

Then it was working great for about a day, and then all I got is the Red screen saying 'insert ps2 media'...even when there was s a real playstaion 2 disc in the drive. it wouldn't even boot a DVD Movie! It won't boot the bootmanager, it just boots the sony browser and goes straight to the red screen no matter what is in the drive.

Then later, that problem seemed to 'fix' itself.

I Played it for another day or so and then just now the red screen problem jumps up again.

I'm not even moving/touching the PS2 other than hitting eject to change the games. I dont know much about electrical connections, but would you agree that it could be a faulty install?

Should I send it back and have it done again? Can you think of anything specifically that might be wrong or anything I might be able to do on my own?

I am aware of the HSM, but even then, you could boot original media and you can exit the HSM by powering off the PS2 (says the site)

I Have a V9 with the R19 hacked FW and I have boot manager 1.8

Seems like a faulty install...loose wires. There's less crosstalk these days amongst the wiring, but you should always make sure you send it to a reputable installer
