Crystal BM randomly stopped working
So I unplugged my v15 slim PS2 for 2 days, after plugging it back in I tried playing one of my backups and now it starts up by going to the classic PS2 browser. I tried re-installing the BM firmware from a CD and that worked fine, but then once again Crystal BM won't show after restarting. What gives?
I've also tried the chip bypass by resetting 6 times, That worked fine, but after restarting the system I still get no BM. Is there something I'm missing?
I don't know if I can afford to open up the system again.
I have the CC 2.0 Pro chip with BM version 3.4 cracked. PS2 is a V15a.
BM is installed in the CC memory.
I repeat, the firmware re-install worked like normal.
I really want to say that I refuse to believe that one of the wires came loose. I had a co-worker re-solder the wires twice before I got the BM running the first time. I asked about the possibility of one of the wires coming loose and he said that the force would have to be pretty significant enough for the solder to come loose. When the BM was still working last Friday I unplugging the system and I carefully moved it to my bed from its normal place. Plugged everything back in like normal on Sunday and then this crap happens. I don't know if I can bring myself to ask my co-worker to re-solder the wires.
Ok new senario added! Interesting!
First a correction.
I'm using Firmware version 3.4 cracked and BM version 2.1.6
I don't know if those are the latest versions but I'm too pissed to go looking for it.
Here's something interesting. Before I tried to reinstall BM to the CC flash. That didn't work... okay.
Last night I tried installing BM to my memory card and now BM boots!!! :wow:
Ok boyz give me your conclusions. Bad flash memory? Still bad wiring?
I'm not sure but it looked like the process of installing the BM on the memory card removed BM content on the flash memory of the CC. Not sure because the text was displaying to fast to follow.
I appreciate all of the response to this thread by the way. Thanks!
