Hey all, I picked up a set of component cables and I can't seem to get them to work. I've heard that chipped PS2s have problems---is it possible to use them with Crystal Pro 2.0?

I tried turning off the 'green fix' and changing to componeent in the original bios settings.

Is there anything else I could try?

Maybe it's my TV? I have a Samsung LCD TV (LE32T5) that is suppposed to be HD Ready.

My component cable is working just fine, don't have any problems. It's either a TV issue, or the cable is broken. I'd test it on another TV to see if that works.

What "doesn't work"? Please explain the symptoms you experience. I use component cables, myself.

I do use component cables with a projector with my cristalized ps2. I think it's clear that it's not a chip issue

Do you use the official cable ? Don't you have a settings to set on your tv ?

Did you check your PS2's settings and change RGB to Y/Pb/Pr?

The TV recognises that the cables are plugged in (it has an auto-detect thing) , but says that there is no signal.

As far as I can tell there is nothing to set-up on the TV side.

No, they are not official cables, they are 3rd-party cables.

Maybe I'll try to find offical ones.

What problems could there be from a TV side?

Sorry to hijack but has anyone with working component cables with Crystal had any problems with PS1 games?

    Cheers,

I bought different component cables (from Monster) and they work fine---wow, what a difference!

But, PS1 games don't work---my TV says 'Mode not Supported'.

    Any ideas?

I guess it is not such a big deal to swith for PS1 games, but it would be nice if I didn't have to.

I have no problems with PS1 video output with component cables on either of my TVs. Is it possible to disable the "auto-detect" on your TV? Perhaps forcing it to 480i will help, provided your TV supports such a thing.

I"ve read through the TV manual, and didn't see anything like that. But, I'll experiment around a bit and see what I can find out.
