The ps2 v14 with cc1.1 chip will not play ps1 games (backup or original). Plays "all" ps2 and DVD's. I can't seem to put it in sleep mode. I took the power wire off the chip and tested all original games and all are working (inc. ps1).
Soldering looks good . Why cant I put the chip to sleep ??? Anyone have any ideas ?

Sleep mode may take some time. My PS2 needs almost a minute to start in sleep mode.

Is this the hardware sleep mode (reset 6 times) that you are talking about?
Hardware sleepmode doesn't work for me. Recovery mode (reset 3 times) doesn't work either. Seems to be stuck in one mode??

T07N , Yeah I have redone the sx wire a couple of times and it all looks good.

Why can't I disable the chip using hardware sleep mode??

Sorry, I was talking about BM's sleep mode.
For the hardware one: maybe you're pressing too fast or too slow.
I can't test it here at the moment, maybe this weekend.
I'll check if it works for me and will report back with the results.

    best regards Jones23

If you are trying to boot your PSX games through BM this might be your problem, remove your memory card with BM on it and boot your PSX game.

OK spedmetal , I tried that and no go. Just blue clouds then black screen.
If I disconnect the pwr wire of the chip leaving all other wires connected ps2 boots ps1 games fine . ??

When chip pwr wire is disconnected console plays all original games fine (ps1 & ps2) just like a normal unchiped console.
When chip is connected back up console plays ps2 games (backup and originals) but no ps1 games at all (backup or original).
It's like it's stuck in the one mode. I can't put it to sleep (disable the chip)
