CC Software Release 34 now available!

Yet another new software release for your CrystalChip! As usual, grab it from Crystal-Chips.com. Here's the info from readme.txt:

Update: Video Fixes are still a bit buggy it seems. Our next release will not be until somewhere between Friday, Feb 16-24. We're taking a break while we finish implementing our new Video Filter, which should resolve any issues with the video fixes and add more output modes. We'd hoped to have a 100% working version available while we did that but it makes more sense to focus our attention on writing new code than fixing old code that's going to be replaced anyway.

    Fixes/Changes:

        - Fixed yet another bug in the PS2 Video Fixes that caused fixes to not work, or stop working after a while
            in some games.  Hopefully this is the last of them..

        - Added a new configuration variable, "BM.AUTOLOAD_FSD_EN", which allows you to disable the automatic loading
            of USB and Memory Card drivers when loading homebrew applications.  This is mostly only useful for
            Unofficial Launch ELF(uLE) and Simple Media System(SMS).  To use this, edit APPINFO.PBT for each of these
            applications and change the following line:
            SHUTDOWN "MM"
            to:
            SET "BM.AUTOLOAD_FSD_EN" "0"

I'm sorry, but I don't understand what the BM. AUTOLOAD_FSD_EN do. You're saying that it disable the automatic loading of the USB drivers.
Does it mean that it's a less restrictive SHUTDOWN MM that could allow you to launch ULE and SMS still from MC but without the complitly shutdown of BM ? (that way, the Reset On Game and the video modifications will still work ?)

But it won't allow you to launch ULE and SMS from USB right ?

Basically the "autoload_fsd" automatically loads USB/MC drivers when software tries to access the USB HDD or MC. This is useful for some older applications which load files from the device they're loaded on, but only after rebooting the IOP. SMS/ULE should still work from USB/MC since both of them support USB anyway.

found a small glitch: when the ps2 disc tray is open, the BM screen starts to flicker, the hint scrollbar lags and the buttons become unresponsive.
the bug is resolved as soon as the tray is closed.

What'S up !! Well, my little man Tony Mantana, Scarface PAL, have problem again with the video fix (x/y) but his friend , like Hitman Blood Money PAL Splinter Cell Double Agent, etc.. don't have this bug annyway.. Scarface doesnt have this trouble when he was running on firmware 29 ... hope it can be fixed :rolleyes: ;) ThX u anyways for all the support you made so far:p

starting ULE and HDLfrom USB now works perfect, but starting HDL from HDD still lets reboot the HDD 2 times :( any solutions?

another thing i noticed upgrading from r29: where has the 'button configuration' option gone? has it been replaced by some other option? i can't seem to find it.

yes, this has been replaced by something more useful.
Now, to configure your shortcuts :
- highlight the option/application you want
- press select
- press the button you want to assign to
- press cross (X) to validate

To cancel a shortcut, press select on anyting, press the button you want to cancel, press select again.

No luck here with NTSC fix , problem still with PS1 and most PS2 games.

Thanks for the great work Crystal Chips. I was able to upgrade from 29 using recovery mode without any problems :dance: . I haven't tried anything else yet, but since my problem was just getting it to upgrade I'm sure the rest is fine (as it is for everyone else)
