Ok, so I just want to know if FW 34 is as stable as FW 29 before updating? In the other FW 34 thread there still seems to be problems but they are mostly about PAL/NTSC fixes.

other than the video fixes, Release 34 is solid.

wizpsycho: fyi, it's "axis". I would like to take an axe to my PS2 sometimes though.

I've upgraded to r34, but one thing I just wanted to ask. Where in BM do I find out if I'm acutally running r34?

As they don't include the firmware sources in the archive, we can't tell about that. We just can see that firmares differ.
About the scripts, the hack code is the same on both version. :
    Instead of Jone's BOOTMENU.PBT code :
    Code:
    SET "IS_HOMEBREW" "1"
    theAgent uses
    Code:
    IF ISIN "PSX.EXE" "$BM.BOOT_NAME$"
        SET "IS_HOMEBREW" "1"
    ELSE
        SET "IS_HOMEBREW" "1"
    ENDIF
    Which gives the same result...

So, I've no conclusion and I admint that my post is totaly useless

By the way, here is the content of the iso of Jones' version to update the chip using USB or ps2client.
    cc_software_34_hacked_sources.zip

To Jones and theAgent : are you planning to force people to upgrade their firmware using CDR until their death ?
