I have my ps2 v15 moded with the cc 2.0. i did the software installation , bootmanager first then firmware upgrade second.

My dvds and orginal games boot up no problem. My backups however don't boot up at all. I am using Phillips dvd-r 16x and am burning an image from 1 - 16 x and none has worked.

i am not too sure where to go from here. Some input would be nice thanks !!

Are you using the hacked fw?

If not, then that's your problem. The "default" FW does not support backups.

umm i think i am.. how would i go about reflashiing the CC 2.0. I have tried booting it up until the Boot Manager screen loads. I hit the reset button three times and i get the defualt PS2 boot screen.

I haven't been able to reflash the chip successfully.

What exactly is your problem? Can't you boot the disc? Or does the upgrade fail?

Hitting the reset button 3 times is called recovery mode. With this you should always be able to boot the upgrade disc. If that doesn't work, there must be something wrong with the chip installation.

If you can boot the disc, try to format the CFlash before updating it. It's the "format dffs" option in the MemCard Manager.

Why don't you know for sure which version you're using? Didn't you download and burn it yourself? The original software from the CC homepage doesn't support backups, like muppet said. The link for the hacked software is in my signature.

    best regards Jones23

if the FW-disc wont boot check ur DVD-controller soldering. had the same prob here today, modded a V14, flashed, backups boot fine. but when the ps2 was home again by its owner, only origs and DVD-movies worked. point H came loose on transport, my fault i know. but this might help others

Well i downloaded the hacked upgrade version of the bios. I burned the cue/bin file to a CD-R at 4x. I put the cd in and the ps2 wil NOT boot the cd.

When i try to do the recovery mode, I get the original PS2 screen and the upgrade CD still does not boot. I will check the soldering points again.

Also when i flashed the CC 2.0 the first time the cd-upgrade was able to boot. Shouldn't it be able to boot this time too in recory mode ?

    thanks for the help

You can't by USB or memory Card but you can try using Network. See the ccwiki for that. You need to have installed ps2link on BM first.

I opened my PS2 rechechecked all solder points and closed the ps2. Loaded the the upgrade cd.

    Installed BM

    Installed FW

    Reload.

PUt in legit game worked great.

PUt in dvd both back up and legit, worked fine.

Put in a backup ps2 that was burned on a Phillips DVD-R at 16x and another at 8x and still am unable to play it.

I downloaded the proper FW because it said hacked on it. I am goning ot redownload it , burn and reinstall the firmware not the BM.

Any advice would be gr8. I appreciate the comments everyone is giving me.
