Hi all. I have modded about 16 ps2 with cc 1.1. All before had no problems. this one is a version 7 and after install the chip flashed 1 sec and went off as per usual. The problem now is that when I tried upgrading firmware to 1.9 hacked it takes forever and finally says "error 5" if I try 1.8 firmware, it says "error 4". Can 'The Agent' or any other crystal team members help as to what the problem is? Any help much appreciated! thanx

Have a little patience your post are only hours apart and you continue to PM me. I have never had of this problem. I belive your firmware disc or your firmware is corrupt. Burn another copy. if you built the firmware yourself then check your code then recompile it.

Hey Agent. I pm you once, what r u talking about? have patience? I posted late at night before and about 4:30 today. Is that too much posting? please stop giving the impression that I'm bugging you. Just needed a little info as I was not sure what to do.

Anyway, the firmware disc is working normal on other systems. I have tried it in 3 other systems. I doubt that its the disc. please help me if you can, but I don't deserve that "have patience" attitude! thanx anyway

sorry d00d. my timestamps are wrong. I'll have to change it cuz it shows your posts only a few hours apart on the same day.

I'm thinking it can still be an install problem. You used the disc before and it all works so that makes the disc solid. Did you try to back out of the install and revert back to an unmodded system yet?

I replaced the chip with a new one. (both chips were new still in sealed antistatic bag.) Problem solved and everything in perfect working order. I'm still curious about the error 4 and error 5 messages though. If you ever get to the bottom of that Agent, please pm or post here for future reference. I will continue to support the cc as its the most solid mod solution IMO. Thanx Agent for your replies!!

Once I get the next firmware betas I'll ask crystalchip. I do know they mean there are errors in the firmware transfer but it can be caused by lots of variables. You have the install that can be an issue, cd, firmware corruption somewhere between the transfer of the firmware to memory then firmware. I can go further but i never had the problem myself.

You should send the chip back to your distributor btw. I will make it's way back to the CC team and they can have a closer look.

PS: I fixed my timestamp too. Sorry about the mixup dude. CC has gained in popularity the past few months. I've been horded with emails and private messages every day. I have a dayjob too, that doesn't help.
