Through trial and error, it seems that I can't get a network connection in enhanced mode of the boot manager. I don't know of any other way to choose the modes without actually choosing "Boot Media" in the main menu of CC boot manager. Choosing Minimal Mode in the PS2 Disc Boot Menu allows me to fully utilize networking. Of course that means that I can't network unless there is a disc to boot in the PS2 tray, in order to get to the PS2 Boot Menu. I do sort of get a network connection in Enhanced Mode (My computer is able to see the PS2), but uLE HOST, HDLD_SRV and SMS freeze up, so I have to restart the PS2. I am running the v34 hacked firmware on my v9. If the firmware is the problem, I will use CC's official v34 firmware.

Is there a way to boot in minimal mode when BM starts? Is that a good idea?
    Any advice would be appreciated.

You have to use the SHUTDOWN "MM" command in the APPINFO.PBT to enable minimal mode for homebrew. The :RUN section has to look like this:

    Code:
    :RUN
        SHUTDOWN "MM"
        LOADEXEC "PBAT" "$BM.SCRIPTS$/LOADEXEC.PBT" "$PWD$/ULE.ELF"
        EXIT "0"

Do I edit the .PBT file in uLE Text Editor?
You could do that. However I usually copy the .pbt file to a USB stick through uLE and then plug it into my computer and edit it with notepad. That way I can save a copy on my computer for back up purposes. Then just plug the USB stick back into the PS2 and copy it back, over writing the original.
