Cannot Upgrade CC1.1, Need Help, Black Screen
Cannot Upgrade CC1.1, Need Help, Black Screen –
I have searched around for my problem but nothing seems to work so now I am asking for anyones help.
I ordered a PS2 pre-mod with a CC1.1 and have been using it the last few days. Well I was going to install the new firmware and after it boots the disc (the playstation 2 screen comes up fine) it just stays at a black screen and does nothing. Even the PS2 browser shows it as a regular PS2 disc...
Now, the machine works fine except for this one thing. I have burned and played at least 5 backups already and have had zero problems, runs flawlessly. I did burn the version 19 hacked firmware to the disc I am trying to use. Aside from that I already have some brand new coasters laying here, so before I go making anymore I would like some help.
I appreciate any help I can get, and if you guys need more info I'll be prompt to post. Thanks in advance.
I had the same problem only the R 18 firmware when trying to upgrade showed a black screen. I then burned the R19 firmware and it went to the flash screen OK and I was able to upgrade the firmware. It was v14 board. Mind you the R18 firmware I had on disk flashed many of CC1.1's And I know it wasent the disk. I think it had to do with the revision of the motherboard.
Hmm...strange indeed. My system is a v14...mayhaps I should try burning with a different cd just for the hell of it. I really don't know anymore.
Anyone have any help at all? I tried different media and it gives me the same thing. I tried booting into recovery mode (reset 3 times) but it doesn't do a damn thing (does it even work on a v14?). I can really use some help.
Hmm...it seems to be the same problem but this still doesn't do anything. I cleaned the folder out and remade it just to be sure, then burnt the files in the file folder and I still get the black screen.
The weird thing about it is when the playstation 2 screen comes up (the load/boat screen) the words 'Playstation 2' simply disappear. It does the animation it would normally do but the words are either black or just don't appear e.g. I can't see them.
For the record, as far as I know the chip came with the latest version on it, what I am really trying to get is boot manager onto my mem card. If there is any other way to do so, any help would that would be most welcome as well.
Same Problem –
I have exact the same problem. I even removed the CC with a second one. Still same problem. I'm sure the soldering is correct. It boots the CD but then the screen stays black.....
Who can help?
So nothing then...? Without boot manager I can't play any PAL games...except those that have 60 hertz capability.
Someone has to have some advice...
all of you are likely suffering from a crappy burner of crap software somewhere. If you cant use the bat file to generate your own bin/cue then use cdgenps2 or any burning program that can master a disc for you from files in cdrom mode2 xa format. Some junk burners that use funky error correction codes can mess up disc images too. In your cases you're just going to have to experiment a little.
