BM help with pal fix

i am trying to load a PAL game on my modded NTSC PS2 and i get a rolling black and white screen. ive read that BM is to fix that so i try it out, i install it to my memory card and updated the firmware and try to load the game in the enhanced mode. the ps2 spins the disk for a while and the screen goes blank and returns to the crystal chip intro screen. if i dont move the cursor on the selection screen it just goes into a neverending cycle and wont stop unless i turn it off or move the cursor. can anyone help me with this?
