I'm getting a black and white scrolling screen from a game, does anyone know what is the problem?
Sounds like your running a PAL game on your NTSC console
It's supposed to be an ntsc region 2 game (from brazil or australia), but I thought I could also run PAL games with this chip. Is it true that I need a component or s-video cable when it's black and white and scrolling like mines?
Ah, beautiful. The game is working now with no problems after installing BootManager.
I'm not sure about Brazil, but Australia definitely has PAL.Originally Posted by GameKing
I'm not sure what it is but after I installed Bootmanager, booted up, and picked enhanced mode it all came out in color and no scrolling, so I don't know. It's only a demo. The only problem is it's stretched a little bit so I can't see the top and bottom of the game, and it's also centered to the right a little bit, do you know how I can fix this? I hope it can be fixed through the BootManager program.
BM provides video fixes, so with it you have the PAL fix enabled and that's why everything is so colorful now.
The "streched" picture can't be fixed, cause PAL has a higher resolution than NTSC, so your screen simply is too small to display the whole picture.
how come after installing boot manager i can't get the same results? It seems to freeze up when i boot in enhanced mode, (i've let it sit for about 10-15 minutes on that loading screen of BM before)
I'm running bm from the mem card, should i be running it off the hard drive?
The only device you can install BM to is the MC (or the CFlash for CC 2.0), so why do you think it should work off HDD?
Are you sure that you installed both BM and FW from the hacked release? I know that the freezing you described can happen when you're using a hacked FW with an original BM.
The reason i thought it MIGHT should run off the hdd is because it wasn't working properly from the memcard.
hacked release: that is possibly the problem then. I upgraded to the version off the crystal chip website, i assume that's not the same as the hacked release here right? or no?
Question: when running make it on the hacked release available for download here, do i run cleanit first still? (clean it looks like it deletes a few things, why aren't they just already deleted?)
also with the version i have i can't get the hard drive to start, it just freezes. Is that fixed in the hacked release? (time to find out)
