Black screen after install firmware

I've got v7 ntsc/uc with CC 2.0. 1st step i'm doing is try to flash firmware hack, it's reading then i'll install firmware and restart console, after that screen goes black... i'll try reset 4 times and can reading but nothing happen cd spinning but screen black... i'll try reset 8 times and i got ROSD.. what happen to my CC?? Damage?? or other method to get it's working back...

After install the firmware you must install the boot manager without reset.

Try at insert cd (with firmware) in to PS2 and turn off (led on reset are red).
Now push reset for 3 times (not 3 second, but 3 push of reset) then start the cd with firmware.

No need to worry, your CC is all right and it's working like it should. You just have to install BootManager too, like capotamar said. Only one thing to mention, you have to turn on the PS2 before hitting reset 3 times to enter recovery mode.
That's exactly what you did with the 4 times reset. But the CC will only read the upgrade disc in recovery mode.

By pressing 8 times reset you disabled the chip (6 times are enough to do so), and your PS2 acts like unmodded. Every burned disc will bring up the RSOD, cause the PS2 can't read such discs without an active modchip.
