Black Screen after 3 resets

PS Verson 8
CC 2.0
FW Hacked 29

I installed chip and everything worked great for about 4 months. Now I am getting Black Screen when I boot or reset 3 times. I only get video if I reset 6 times.

Hi

Install firmware and bootmanager again from cd-upgrade disc. Pressing reset 3 times will reload old firmware, or as i see it, only loads the firmware bootloader the chip is delivered with!!! very anoying when your kids does this and you have no cd or dvd laser left!!!

That's not really how things work. When you hit reset 3 times, you boot on the minimal firmware embedded on the ROM part of the chip. But it doesn't remove the firmware you installed on the flash memory. As soon as you start again the PS2, it should boot normally.

For allen257, perhaps one of the wire of the chip has moved. You should check your installation. You can also try to reinstall your firmware and BM as KimBOlesen suggests (29 or 34).

Yep YOC your right, it does boot "normally", as a standard PS2 without a chip! It should start with BM again..

I would suggest you upgrade to Release 34.

Also, in the future please include your console model number and version when requesting help.

@CrystalChip: I have just visited a customer complaining about "missing BM", maschine started with normal ps2 browser, sorry don't remember Version number. I don't have a laser in my ps2, so i dont dare pressing reset x3 :-) .I'll try this with the next maschines there have a working laser, and are running R34.

If I install a CC 2.0 in amchine that I know are going to be handled by kids.Then I always install FW 34 without BM cause on a whole bunch of machines that they say "today it won´t play my games anymore!!!!"
It has always be that they have been in the BM meny and deleted the FW
