    I'm just wondering if there's any extra tricks, etc to know about the crystal chip since I just installed one in place of my Duo chip.

    I'm also wondering what this boot manager thing is, I'll have to look it up.

    Thanks... This chip is a dream compared to the other ones I've used. I can auto boot everything as advertised and boot every media from the browser! Everything says Playstation 2 disc but that's fine. It's a really cool chip! Also thanks whoever posted links to bios images, that saved TONS of time.

    Thanks I eventually found that and tried it out. It's cool but the x-fix and y-fix seem to be broken and cause the system to freeze in PAL games if using those. Otherwise everything's good

    Yeah, does anyone know what the trick is to get pal games to work? I remember getting around it but I know don't remember how I did. I thought I just didn't use boot manager. Anyways, ideas?

    You have to install boot manager onto a memory card from the crystal chip install cd. I'm hoping that they'll fix the x-fix and y-fix so it doesn't freeze up, didn't know they were coming out with new chips. I searched the forum a bit before buying too because I saw that crystal chip 2.0 stuff on the banner.

    I use the boot manager and turn on the PAL and NTSC fixes. I played around with them using auto and force NTSC mode but all I get when I boot in enhanced mode is squiggly lines across the screen. At least without the boot manager the game still loads up..just in PAL and unplayable for me on my ntsc tv. Guh, well on their site they said a new boot manager should be coming out real soon.

    Are you able to load PAL games on NTSC TVs?

    did you try patching the game itself to ntsc?
    it works for ntsc->pal conversion.
    (never got the chip-conversions to work)

    No, I was hoping I didn't have to since it was one of the selling points for the chip. That ****ing sucks. I hope they fix this in the next release of boot manager because I really don't want to patch and reburn my backups.

    I guess I'll make sure I download only NTSC from now on.

    If you revert back to BM 1.4 the PAL game patches will workon your NTSC console but of course you loose some of the features in BM 1.6
