This has been driving me nuts, and I know I'm not the only one (with a CC or otherwise) to still run into problems with this one.

I literally went through 6 verbatim +DL discs on this!
Tried toxic patch w/ rom booktype, burned the mds file.
Tried no patch w/ rom booktype, burned the mds file.
Tried toxic patch w/ normal and rom booktypes, burned the iso file.
Tried no patch w/ normal and rom booktypes, burned the iso file.

Yup, that is 6 discs, and interesting results.
First off, you would think there would be no difference between burning the mds file or deleting it and just burning the iso.
But there was. All discs were from the same batch of media and burned exactly under the same conditions.

GT4 ran notably better when I just burned the ISO.
Even more backwards is the fact that my BEST copy out of all these was the ISO patched w/ the toxic patch, and with the CC auto patcher turned ON! With -rom booktype.

With this burn, the intro seems to start quicker, less lag. And the intro movie skips less than any others, but still skips enough to be plenty annoying, but it doesn't so much freeze.
Other than that, once I'm past the intro and intro movie, everything else about the game works menus are fine, music fine, replays are fine. The intro works fine on my dvd5 version, so I've seen it.
And who watches the intro anyhow more than once or twice? 99% of the time you'll hit X and skip all the intro stuff to get the game started.

In a close second place, was the non-patched ISO, -rom booktype.
The intro stuff seems to load a bit slower than the above, and the intro movie skips and freezes more. Aside from that, everything else is flawless, just like the above disc.

Since the toxic patched with CC patch enabled (strange) loads faster at start, that is my main backup copy.

What is it about that intro movie? Also burned both GOW backups (1 and 2), and the intro movies are flawless. And those GOW backups were burned as normal, no patch, -rom booktype.

So...my reason for this post. Should I use the toxic patch on all DL games along with leaving the CC patcher on as well? I mean, it worked the best for GT4.
But I'm wondering if GT4 is just an exception to the norm. Haven't played far into the GOW's, so I can't tell you if they (no toxic patch) are going to be flawless the whole way through.

Does anybody find it strange that the best copy out of all 6 burns would be the toxic patched with CC auto patch also on?
I tried this same copy with the patch off, and I should note that there was no notable difference.

I'm thinking that whether you have patched a backup with toxic or not that it doesn't matter if the CC auto patch is on or not.
However, other people with the CC have said that GT4 works best for them w/ toxic patch and CC auto patcher off. For those people, have you tried just leaving the CC patch on?

Anyhow, thought I would throw all this info out there and see if anybody has any comments on this.
