On 10th may, it will be two months since last update on their site. I hope they will show some progress...
My "GUESS" is that CrystalChips is a group of university students that design modchips on the side. Around April and May are when they would have final exams. They also don't have to login when Jones23 is answering all the questions for them. lol
This happens every time CrystalChips has a major release. I do not think they are abandoning support...not this time at least.
I was wondering the same thing. It is not a big issue with me, but two months without being able to watch DVD movies with the most current release is a long time.
The subject of this thread was about whether or not Crystal Chip was still supporting their product, not what we could do to work around bugs. Why couldn't you use the default DVD player on the PS2?
I'd say give these people a break. You try programming revising/rewriting code responsible for CC operations ..
It is a legitimate question from customers that paid money for a product, not someone hoping to get free support for some project they do not have anything invested in.
I'm sure they're still supporting their chips, they just released the SLE a month or two ago.
For all we know the next version of the BM and firmware are going to handle very differently, which could mean a lot of raw code work that doesn't leave them a lot of time to try to keep us in the loop.
I guess for now we have to play it by ear and see what turns up. BTW, to bypass the DVD playing issue, just turn off the chip (reset 6 times)... it's what I have to do as well, unfortunately. Although I watch most of my movies through XviD anyway![]()
