V14 DMS 4 Pro SE
I have here a machine from a customer that brought there own chip. It is a DMS4 Pro SE. I installed the chip into the machine no problem. I have chipped over 1500 ps2's so wiring should not be an issue. I tested the machine on my bench over night countless times with at least 5 different backups DVD-R and CDR.
I installed Toxic Bios......then the next day Toxic OS
The customer came and picked up the machine and phoned me to say that it was not working. He started getting into discussion about PAL forcing, Elf files, boot discs....etc. I said basically....you should not have to worrry about any of that stuff. Games should boot direct. (as I did).
So I got the machine back today and the DMS is working. They managed to change every setting in the Toxic OS so I went through and changed everything to normal.
The machine boots originals when DMS is disabled and from the Toxic Menu but will not boot any copies. Not even the DMS Upgrade disc.
So I installed Toxic Bios from a memory card. Still no booting of any DVD-R or CDR. But boots originals.
1) Is there a possibility that the chip works even if there is a wire off but won't boot backups?
2) OR does this sound like the problem with DMS4Pro SE chips and the crystal?
Look at your CDVD wire installation, sounds like a wire may of come loose.
